Frequently Asked Questions
All three audiences in one place. Buyers sending an RFQ, shops registering to quote, vendors supplying the shops.
For buyers
Sending an RFQ. Full detail on how we match and the grade reference.
Is this free for buyers?
Yes. You pay nothing to send an RFQ or to receive quotes. Shops pay us for matched requests. Price, terms and delivery are agreed between you and the shop.
Do you machine titanium yourselves?
No. We are a matching service, not a machine shop. The shops that quote you own the machines, and you place the order with them.
Which titanium grades can you get quoted?
Grade 2 and the other commercially pure grades, Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 23 ELI, Grade 9 Ti-3Al-2.5V and the corrosion grades 7 and 12. If you are not sure which grade the part needs, describe the service conditions instead and say so on the form.
Who sees my drawing?
Shops first see a short preview with part type, grade, size, quantity and tolerance. It does not include your name, company or files. Your contact details and files go only to the shops we match, up to 3. If you ask for an NDA, we hold the files until it is signed.
Can the shops supply mill certificates and lot traceability?
Many can, and it changes the price. Say on the RFQ whether you need a mill certificate to EN 10204 3.1, heat lot traceability or a first article inspection report, and we only match shops that already work that way.
Which file formats can I send?
STEP or IGES for the 3D model, plus a PDF drawing with tolerances, surface finish and any certificate notes. DWG and DXF also work. A STEP file together with a PDF drawing gets the most accurate quotes.
For shops
Registering to quote titanium RFQs. See the supplier program and the guides written for shops.
Is one RFQ sold to many shops?
No. Each RFQ goes to 3 shops at most, and only to shops whose machines, grades and part size fit the request.
How much does a lead cost?
We do not publish a price list. Each preview carries its own price before you decide, and it depends on part complexity and order size. Ask us for the current range and you get a straight answer by email.
What if a lead is not what the preview described?
Tell us within 7 days. If the buyer contact does not work or the part differs clearly from the preview, we credit the amount against your next lead.
Which countries can register?
Any country. Buyers can name a preferred region on the RFQ form, so shops in that region see the requests from buyers who asked for them.
For vendors
Material, tooling and equipment suppliers. See the vendor program, which is deliberately non-commercial.
Does registering get my company featured or recommended?
No. There is no paid placement here and no directory listing for sale. Registering puts you on file so that when a technical guide needs a fact checked, or an RFQ turns up an unusual sourcing question, we know who to ask. See our editorial standards for why we hold that line.
What does "review a guide for technical accuracy" mean in practice?
Occasionally we send a draft guide to someone who works with the material or equipment it covers and ask whether the technical detail is right. If you contribute, we credit you by name as a technical reviewer. It is not an advertisement and it is not guaranteed to happen on any particular schedule.
Is there a cost to register?
No. This is not a paid program in either direction. We are not selling placement and we are not charging a listing fee.
We supply titanium bar. Can you tell us which shops need it?
Not directly, and not as a matter of policy: shop and buyer identities stay private until they choose to share them, the same rule that protects buyers from having their drawing shopped around. What registering does is put your company on file for the sourcing questions above.
