Who Runs This Site and How It Makes Money

Short version: we are a titanium sourcing specialist. You send one RFQ, we introduce you to shops that cut titanium, and you deal with them directly. We never touch the order.

What we are

This site does one thing. It takes a titanium machining enquiry, reads it properly, and puts it in front of the small number of shops that are a genuine fit for that part.

We are not a machine shop. We do not own machines, we do not cut metal and we never will. That is deliberate, because it is what lets the guides on this site say plainly when titanium is the wrong material or when a cheaper grade would do the same job. A shop cannot write that sentence. We can.

How we make money

Shops pay us for matched requests. Buyers pay nothing, ever.

We take no commission on the order, no percentage, no success fee. Once the introduction is made, the commercial relationship is between you and the shop, and we have no financial interest in how large it becomes. That is worth stating plainly because it removes the incentive to push you toward a bigger order than you need.

What we will not do

  • Send your drawing to more than 3 shops. Usually fewer.
  • Release your name, company or files before a shop has taken the request. Shops see an anonymous preview first.
  • Share your files at all if you asked for an NDA and it has not been signed.
  • Add you to a mailing list because you sent an RFQ.
  • Sell your details to anyone else. There is no second buyer for your data here.
  • Accept a fee from a shop to be ranked or recommended. Placement is not for sale.

What we cannot show you yet

Most sites in this niche open with a client count, a number of years and a wall of logos. We are not going to do that, because this site is new and the honest number is small.

So there is no case study page, no testimonial section and no list of companies we have worked with. When there is something real to put there, it will go there with names attached and permission granted. Until then the only thing we can offer you is the quality of the reasoning on this site. Read two or three of the guides and judge whether the person who wrote them understands what happens to a titanium quote. That is a fairer test than a logo wall anyway.

Who writes here

Ryan runs the matching side of this site. He reads every RFQ that comes in, decides which shops it goes to and writes the guides here. The editorial standards page sets out where the numbers come from and how mistakes get corrected.

Why titanium only

Because the sourcing problem in titanium is different from the sourcing problem in aluminium. Stock availability drives the lead time more often than machine capacity does. The grade decides the price as much as the geometry. Certificates cost real money. Half the shops that say they machine titanium have cut it twice.

A generalist marketplace treats titanium as one dropdown option among thirty. Matching it properly means knowing which shops have it in production this month, and that is a full time job for one metal.
